Graham Ravages Trump on Syria

Comments made by President Donald Trump downplaying the significance of Turkey's invasion of northern Syria severely irked South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham earlier today, leading the typically pro-Trump legislator to warn on Twitter that "I firmly believe that if President Trump continues to make such statements this will be a disaster worse than President Obama's decision to leave Iraq."

Making such comments throughout the day stating, "It's Not Our Border," saying that our abandoned Kurdish allies are "not angels," parroting Turkish talking points that the PKK is "worse than ISIS," and implying that the developing crisis in Syria is of no concern to the United States, Trump concluded an objectively horrendous day in foreign policy messaging by imploding in a conference with legislative leaders about the situation.

Graham was anything but amused by the Trump Administration:

Congressional Democrats and Graham were far from being the only critics of Trump on Wednesday, as the House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly - with two-thirds Republican support - to condemn the administration's decision to abandon northern Syria in the face of Turkey's invasion.

Trump, never one to remain silent, responded meekly to Graham's criticisms by retorting, "I think Lindsey should focus on Judiciary."
