Jobs Number Crushes Expectations; 678K New Jobs Created, Other Months Revised Upwards

 In the short month of February, the US economy added a staggering 678,000 new jobs, beating forecasts and causing the unemployment rate to dip to 3.8%.

Experts forecast 400,000 jobs to be created in February.  December and January's job numbers were also revised upward by 92,000.

Combined, over 770,000 new jobs were reported this month by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Additionally, according to the BLS, "The number of persons not in the labor force who currently want a job declined by 349,000 to 5.4 million in February."
